Shit fuck!
A loss as frustrating as it is hearbreaking and as heartbreaking as it is frustrating. Really a game we should've won but as so often is the case, I think our inability to bring on substitutes wore down our defense at the end there. It was pretty clear in the last couple minutes that something was brewing for Stoke and while Huth's injury time smash was a killer, you could sort of feel it coming. Why not bring on Cuellar or Steve Ireland for some fresh legs? One can only hope that Houllier will be a bit more generous with his substitutions once he's finally allowed to take the helm. All in all it's a long season and we will just have to take this bitter defeat as fuel for the fire.
Great first half
Killin' it in the first half. We're great in the air today. Downing's goal made that quite obvious..inches from another one from Gabby-Ashley. Hopefully we can keep it up in the second half and our creativity at the top of the box will pay off..

4-5-1
Villans with a 4-5-1? This rules. Ashley at attackin mid and Gabby up front. Fine by me.

Stoke today
A win today would be damn nice. If only to shut everyone up about Houllier and his absence and bring everyone back down to the actual soccer. I'm talking like a 3 or 4 goal smashing of the Potters. Carew actually putting one or two in for a change..we'll see.

Aston Villa 2 - 2 Wolverhampton
In a match critical to assuring Villa's chances of Champions League qualification, they achieved a bittersweet draw in the Midlands derby with Wolves. The outcome would surely have been much worse had it not been for a brace from John Carew, albeit both could have come back for offside calls. An inspiring performance from Ashley Young also contributed to Villa's comeback from a James Milner own goal and another goal that resulted from a failed clearance by what is usually the league's most stout defense. Deft passes by Young played important roles in both goals by Carew, in the 16th and 82nd minutes, both tapped in from close range by the Norwegian striker. Milner redeemed his own goal and shaky play in the first half with a solid second half of play from the wing, after he was displaced in the middle of the field by substitute Steve Sidwell. The back line of Cuellar, Warnock, Collins, and Dunne also recovered from a shaky first half with a goalless and markedly astute second half. Unimpressive was the performance of Emile Heskey, especially in the presence of the derby's most distinguished guest, Fabio Capello. Villa have Sunderland on Wednesday at Villa Park.
